Washington, DC—Congressman Jim Renacci (OH-16) today released the following statement in response to President Obama’s FY 2012 budget request. The House of Representatives will submit to Obama their FY 2012 budget resolution in March.
“This morning, President Obama sent his budget proposal for fiscal year 2012 to Congress. Even with the included budget cuts, Obama’s request will add $13 trillion to the national debt over the next 10 years. The President’s budget spends too much, taxes too much, and borrows too much.
Taxpayers have told us loud and clear that our record-level debt is unacceptable and have demanded that we get our fiscal house in order. To create jobs and grow our economy, we need a budget that will streamline the tax code, bring certainty to job creators, and reduce spending. I remain committed to these goals and will continue the fight to restore accountability and fiscal responsibility to Washington.”
