Washington, DC—Today, U.S. Rep. Jim Renacci (OH-16) released the following statement following passage the Continuing Resolution to fund the government at the President’s sequester levels while also eliminating funding for Obamacare.
“By casting my vote in favor of this bipartisan Continuing Resolution, I was proud to stand with a vast majority of my constituents who support a functioning but fiscally restrained federal government and who overwhelmingly oppose the President’s costly and reckless health care law. This funding measure ensures that our government will remain in full operation at current spending levels, while also eliminating funding for a law that the American people did not want, do not support and cannot afford. The House has done its job and it’s now time for Harry Reid to abandon his threats of a government shutdown, set aside his aversion to hard work, and get the job done in the United States Senate.”
Rep. Renacci is serving his second term in the U.S. House of Representatives, where he is a member of the Ways and Means Committee. Prior to his election he worked as a Certified Public Accountant in the health care industry, and owned and operated over 60 other businesses in the automotive and sports management fields.
