Rep. Jim Renacci (OH-16) today was awarded the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) Award for Manufacturing Legislative Excellence at an event hosted by RPM Corporate in Medina, Ohio.

“I am pleased to receive the NAM Award for Manufacturing Legislative Excellence,” said Renacci. “The manufacturing industry is essential to our economy in Ohio’s 16th District and across the country. That is why I will continue to support policies that will allow companies like RPM to grow and create jobs here in Northeast Ohio and beyond.”

“Manufacturing in Ohio and across the country is making a comeback,” said NAM President and CEO Jay Timmons. “Manufacturers are growing the economy and creating high-paying jobs in a sector that adds $1.32 to the economy for every $1 spent. Representative Renacci understands that leaders in Washington must advance policies that will continue to fuel this economic growth and has consistently supported manufacturers through his votes in Congress.”

“Manufacturing is the backbone of the American economy, with the biggest multiplier effect of any industry,” said Ward J. “Tim” Timken, Jr, a member of the NAM board of directors and chairman, CEO and president of TimkenSteel Corporation, as he presented the award. “Congressman Renacci demonstrates support with both his words and actions, voting to strengthen and grow our manufacturing base in this country at every opportunity.”

The NAM Award for Manufacturing Legislative Excellence honors members of Congress who demonstrate support for policies that enhance the ability of U.S. manufacturers to succeed in the global economy. More information on the award can be found here.
