Rep. Jim Renacci (OH-16) today released the following statement after voting in favor of the Water Resources Reform and Development Act, legislation that authorizes the key missions of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, including developing, maintaining, and supporting our country’s economically vital waterway infrastructure:

“The Great Lakes are treasured by our region not only for their natural beauty, they are also the backbone of our economy and the source of hundreds of thousands of jobs. That is why it is absolutely critical that we all work together to take the necessary steps to ensure that our Great Lakes remain a pillar of our economy for years to come,” said Rep. Jim Renacci. “I was proud to support the Water Resources Reform and Development Act, a bipartisan bill that maintains and further develops our infrastructure, streamlines government processes saving hardworking taxpayer’s money, and supports job creation. A strong infrastructure is central to increasing America’s competitiveness, and I urge President Obama to join us in working toward a healthier economy.”
