WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Rep. Jim Renacci (OH-16) released the below statement following the House’s approval of the tax extenders package - the Protecting Americans from Tax Hikes (PATH) Act - which includes Renacci’s tax bills:
“I am thrilled that my colleagues in the House approved the bills and provisions I introduced to relieve unnecessary tax compliance burden, to prevent targeting in our democracy, and to fight fraud for hard-working individuals. This is a win for American and Ohioan taxpayers. As a CPA, my top priorities continue to be reforming our broken tax code and protecting hard-working Americans, and the PATH Act is an important first step forward in these efforts,” Renacci said.
Renacci bills which are included in the PATH Act:
- Information Reporting Simplification Act of 2015 (H.R. 3856), which Renacci introduced with his colleagues from the Bipartisan Working Group,
- Prevent Targeting at IRS Act (H.R. 709),
- and core components from Stolen Identity Refund Fraud Prevention Act of 2015 (H.R. 3832).
Renacci spoke on the floor today in support of the PATH Act.
