Yesterday, Rep. Jim Renacci’s bipartisan legislation, the Strengthening Partnerships to Prevent Opioid Abuse Act, passed through the Ways & Means Committee markup in a larger package of bills to combat the opioid crisis.
“The opioid epidemic is a serious crisis ravaging communities throughout our nation, including my state of Ohio – where nearly 3,500 people died from opioid overdoses in 2016,” said Renacci. “I am proud to see my bipartisan legislation to reduce overprescribing and improve transparency within the Medicare system pass out of Committee.”
This package now moves on to the House floor for further debate and review.
