Washington, D.C. - Congressman Jim Renacci (R-OH) voted in support of H.R. 5797, the IMD CARE Act, which would allow Medicaid to pay for opioid and cocaine addiction treatment in certain inpatient facilities. This is in addition to over 50 bills brought to the floor to combat the opioid epidemic, which has claimed the lives of over 13,000 Ohio residents from 2010-2016.
"It seems like a no-brainer to expand Medicaid to cover the costs of essential rehabilitation treatments," Renacci said. "I am looking forward to seeing the impact this legislation has in ridding our state from these tragic and horrific overdoses while ensuring those struggling with addiction have access to quality care."
