Washington, D.C. – Yesterday, Congressman Jim Renacci (R-OH) released the following statement on the Trump Administration’s decision to explore relocating the Economic Research Service (ERS) and National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) within the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) outside of Washington, D.C.:
“I think it is important for our farmers and rural communities who are the largest stakeholders in the agriculture sector of our economy to be in close proximity to these agencies for a closer and stronger connection to stakeholders. I applaud this decision and want to assure Ohio communities and counties are given ample time to submit proposals.
I urge the administration to extend the time period for interested Ohio communities. This will allow them to showcase how and why they would be a great place to relocate.”
