This afternoon, Congressman Jim Renacci (R-OH) released the following statement regarding President Trump’s correction:

“I was in the room with the President when he corrected himself. He told me that he flew across the world to provide a stronger foot for the US to stand on.

I believe that trying to rebuild relationships with dangerous foes like Russia and North Korea is good in the long term for America - and it takes time. We should allow the President to do his job.

Time will tell if he is taking the right approach. If I believe things are going south, I will have no problem making sure he is held accountable to change the path.”
