Dear Friend,

Despite the Cavaliers loss last night, I have faith in our Cavs that they are taking the series so I challenged my Democrat colleague Rep. Mark DeSaulnier from California to a wager.  Beer from Ohio's first microbrewery, Great Lakes Brewing Company vs. California wine.  I am looking forward to Game 2 on Sunday.

Washington Wrap-Up

This Week:  The House was in recess so there were no votes.

Next Week:  The House will continue to move forward with the appropriations process, focus on defense policy, and continue our work to fight Zika.

NAIOP (National Association for Industrial and Office Parks)

Everyone can agree that our country’s tax code is noncompetitive and in need of reform. Thank you to NAIOP, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association, for inviting me to provide an update on what I am working on with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to make our business tax system the most competitive in the world. We can't settle for a corporate tax rate that is middle of the pack.

Buckley King

Thank you to Buckley King for inviting me to speak with your team about the work I am doing with my bipartisan colleagues, especially the work to bring forth a plan to reform our nation's tax code and to improve patient care in hospitals.  It was always great to have discussions with Ohioans about the issues they face daily so I can keep my to-do list fresh as I head back to Washington.

PTSD Awareness Month

June is ‘Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Awareness Month’.  PTSD affects many veterans in our community. After traumatic events, there are painful memories.  For many, the aftermath of the event will fade over time. For others, the memories and feelings don't go away, even months or years after the event.  It is important to recognize PTSD and help those impacted by it get treatment.  Learn more here.
