CONGRESSMAN RENACCI'S STATEMENT ON PASSAGE OF HOUSE PLAN TO MAKE RESPONSIBLE, LONG-TERM CUTS AND AVOID DEFAULT
Washington, DC—Today, Congressman Jim Renacci (OH-16) released the following statement on passage of the House of Representatives plan to cut spending and avoid a federal government default:
“I applaud the House of Representative’s passage of a plan to address our nation’s ballooning national deficits, balance our budget in the long-term and avoid a damaging default. I supported this solution because it makes the cuts needed to rein in Washington’s runaway spending, while at the same time it protects America’s credit rating. This is day one of changing the way Washington works. It is now time for the Senate and President Obama to get off the sidelines and follow the House’s lead.”
Congressman Renacci is serving his first term in the U.S. House of Representatives, where he is a member of the Financial Services Committee. Prior to his election he worked as a Certified Public Accountant in the health care industry, and owned and operated over 60 other businesses in the automotive and sports management fields.
